I have oil coming from somewhere on the side of the motor. Oil filter seems to be clear with no oil, don't know what caused or where it's coming from.

It's hard to tell, some possibilities. Front and rear crank seals-- valve cover gaskets-- oil sending unit-- oil pan gasket. If too much pressure in crankcase, it can force oil out just about anywhere. Pcv system ok? Is it engine oil or tranny fluid?
