Hi , I have a 1998 buick century with insrument cluster problems.

first of all the temp. gauge reads backwards(Hot is cold and cold is hot). The temp. light stays on all the time. The mileage gives different mileages.The seat belt light stays on also.Please help me so I can fix this. thank you

It sounds almost like someone hooked up the cluster backwards.

correct me if I am wrong but doesnt the cluster just plug? what are the chances that it could be backwards? do you think it could be a bad instrument cluster?

It could be a bad cluster. I don't have one of these to go look at, so I'm not sure whether the connector for the cluster connector is keyed or not.
