BMW 528i climate control buttons

How do I replace the climate control buttons? The buttons were missing or not functioning and We replaced it but now it is not working at all.

I'm not sure what you're asking. You say the buttons were missing and you replaced it. What exactly did you replace, the entire control unit? If so, what's not working, the control unit or just some of the buttons???
