1998 a4 2.8 Quattro. 88,000 miles My oil temperature light goes on, I checked the oil level and it looks fine, only goes on once in a while, what can it be, I'm thinking maybe a bad oil temperature sender?

I feel as you do that the oil temp sender may be faulty, before replacing I would make sure that the electrical connection is clean and tight, a fault code scan should give a code for this sensor.
