4 WD catalytic converter removed. one oxygen sensor is in service. the other is left hanging. can this damage the vehicle computer etc?

first of all, removing the cat is in violation of federal law. there is no reason to remove it. you can get an aftermarket that is a flow through and get the same results as a straight pipe but have the rear o2 working.

the check engine light will be on and you will have difficulty getting it inspected.

Why did you remove it??

I did not remove it. I bought the vehicle used and am in the process of getting some things fixed when I found this out.

Many states also make it a crime to remove the CAT. Reputable mechanics/shops will not work on it without a CAT.

no, the bcm is body control computer and the pcm is the engine control computer.
