Are these vac assy sensors interchangeable?

These are OEM Map Sensor Numbers. 89420-06060 is my original off the car.
I purchased 89420-06040 and I am told it is the same OEM part - that these are interchangeable and cross referenced as exact equals?

The part does not solve my problem. I have replaced all parts in EGR system. This was most expensive and last. Only it does not solve the issue and I can not match the numbers. Auto part seller insists these are the same.

What is the verdict?

It was most likely a misdiagnosis and wasn't the problem in the first place. The car needs to be diagnosed properly. Throwing parts at it doesn't usually solve anything.

What kind of an answer is this? There is no misdiagnosis. There is an issue with EGR system. I simply asked if the two parts are interchangeable. ? Yes or no? Is one part the same as the second? In the books are these cross referenced as identical?
MAP SENSOR 89620-06060 sensor assy vac 7125
and
MAP SENSOR 89420-06040 sensor assy vac 8203

The only one that has that info is the dealer. I seriously doubt the EGR valve is actually the problem if it made no difference.

I never mentioned the VGR Valve. For future reference - in a 1997 Toyota Camry with a 4cyl engine and an automatic trans - in a PO401 trouble code - it calls to check EGR Valve, EGR Modulator, EGR VSV and finally the computer PTM. I stated all were replaced, tested, and functioning - excecpt for the MAP Sensor in question. I was sold a part for an equal and I simply wanted to know if the parts were interchangeable in a reference book that a 'pro' would have...

I can tell you that if you are still getting a PO401, what your problem is is a plugged up EGR passage in the intake, not the MAP sensor.

Thank you, I have been afraid you are correct - but it was done by a decent mechanic - it looks clean - he was trying to clear the code - so I have not removed it YET. I am focused on the vsv. I don't think it working. I want to relocate it to the fire wall and need to know how to get the wires to run the extension without putting it on a lift or pulling a wheel. I want to locate the harness and wires from the bending over the fender.
Thanks though - you have a great point and may be correct. Eventually I will post what fixes it.

I'm not guessing. I've been there before. You're wasting your money on the MAP and you shouldn't be relocating anything. Just take the throttle body off and clean out the passage with a coathanger.
