The relay that activates the fuel pump is the circuit opening relay here is its location by the drivers side. Here are also some guides and diagrams to help you get the problem fixed. Please check the EFI relay as well

Thanks for the info, I testing the fuel pump relay/circuit open and it was bad I replaced it with a new one I got from Amazon for $21.00

car does not start

**Cranks but no start condition:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem,Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs,coil's resistances,distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.

where is the fuel pump relay located because ther is no power to the fuel pump.

The Circuit Opening Relay is located at the right kick panel directly above the Engine Control Module (ECM)

my fuel pump will not come on. the pump is good, i have checked and replaced the relays and fuses and the pump. i have also taken out the open circuit relay and jumped the poles between three and five and the pump then turns on when i turn the key to ignition, but upon removing the jumper and replacing the relay in the connector the pump no longer turns on. what could this mean? is it likely that the ECU or PCM is bad?

There is a an EFI relay that goes out in the these cars which can cause the fuel pump relay not to kick on. Also if the mass air flow sensor is having a problem the computer doesn't think the engine is turning over or running so it too will cause the fuel pump relay not to receive a trigger signal. Here is a wiring diagram and a guide so you can do some testing.

I have provided some pictures with what I have found in my testing. In all of the pictures provided there is no key in the ignition. And when the key is in the ignition And in the "on" position my test light stays lit fully. Not sure what this means if anything. But the photos show the bulb of the tester dimming and getting bright with the clamp of the tester on the + battery terminal and the probe inserted into one of the efi connector sockets. And your wiring diagram although helpful in knowing what wires go where, did not help me to find my issue. Where can I find my mass air flow sensor? And I'm not sure what to do next.

It kinda looks like you have a ground issue. Can you check the battery to chassis ground wire to make sure you have a good connection please.

I checked and re grounded the the battery-chassis. I am still getting a pulsing light front the tester and when I turn the key to ignition I then get no light on the tester in that pole in that connector? Is this supposed to happen?

Its hard to tell becasue we don't know the color of the wire you are testing. Did you replace the EFI relay as well?

The EFI relay and the open circuit relay have been replaced and are new even though that wasn't necessary because the old relays we're still good. I have provided a photograph of the two wires that have been jumped that allow the fuel pump to turn on. The two wires in front of my finger are the two wires being jumped. Now, when the relays are replaced and the ignition is turned to on, The fuel pump no longer comes on. I suppose that is my biggest question. , Following that, would be, why will my car not start even though I have the fuel pump running and I have spark.

And the wire you were asking about is a black wire with white tracing.

Black with a white tracer should have 12 volts all the time. Is the test light bright on that terminal?

All fuses are good. checked all relays besides one; the circuit opening relay cannot find it. need help finding it.

i put in a new fuel pump and I am still not getting fuel. Do I have to bleed air out of the lines or do I need to look else where? Also where is the relay for the fuel pump at? Thanks for the help!

The relay is under the hood in the power distribution box. There should be 12 volts to the pump.

I recently changed the cylinder head and timing cover and chain gear due to damage done by the chain wearing through the timing cover. Since reassembling, their is spark but no fuel flow. I can hear and feel the relay located at the fuse box and the relay under the right side kick panel. I tested for voltage at the connector to the fuel tank inside the right rear wheel well and got no voltage to the fuel pump. Can you advise?

Do this block open the flap inside the airflow meter-do you have power-no power test the circuit opening relay and also check the EFI fuse. Also try this jumper the Fp to batt in the check connector this will bypass the COR and the Airflowmeter and apply power to the fuel pump.

I blocked open the flap inside the airflow meter and there was voltage to the fuel pump when the engine was cranked, as measured at the connector in the right rear wheel well. What now?

Its getting power to the fuel pump when you block open the flap -you should hear the pump come on.

Power the fuel pump direct from the battery -did it come on? If not the fuel pump is defective

The fuel pump works fine when voltage is applied to it. Both relays are working. The problem seems to be that the only way to get voltage to the fuel pump is to block open the flap in the airbox.

My questions now is what does this situation indicate is the problem that prevents normal operation of the fuel pump? Can you advise?

Replace the airflow meter-its job is to ground the circuit opening relay so that power be transfer to the fuel pump.

Fuel pump came to life, but "Check Engine" light is on while engine is running. Engine runs rough and wont idle. Can you tell me where the "Check Engine harness connector" is located and what it looks like in terms of number of connectors.

The check connector is located near the fuse box in engine compartment-You jump T to E-1 or Te-1 to E-1 see below

There is no check engine connector located anywhere near the fuse box. I searched the underdash area and the engine compartment and all I could find in the way of available connectors are the two shown in the attached photo which are located in the left underhood area close to the ignition coil. Neither has anything on it that identifies the contacts. The larger has three wires entering it and the smaller has two wires. Is either of these the check engine connector?

It should be in the engine compartment you are on the right track the terminals is in the gray small box close to the coil-so much of repair manual accuracy The photo is the check connector where you can jump batt to fp to fire up the fuel pump

Hello again, I couldn't find anything that could be described as a gray box near the coil. I did find two grommets on the inner fender where the two round connectors, shown in the earlier photo, seem to store. There is a squarish yellow connector with two conductors shown in both attached photos. could this be the "check connector"?
