I HAVE A 1997 SATURN SL 2 SERIES HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACE YESTERDAY I FOUND OUT THAT MY TRANSMISSION FLUID IS LEAKING FROM MY CAR I DO NOT NOTICE IT HAVING PROBLEMS GETTINBG INTO GEAR MY CAR AINT JUMPING OR STALLING OR ANYTHING IT IS AN AUTOMATIC COULD IT BE THE SEAL OR SOMETHING I CURRENTLY HAVE IT TOWED TO A SHOP IM HOPING IT DIDNT DO ANY DAMAGE TO MY CAR DO YOU BY ANY CHANCE KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE

It depends where its leaking-could be just the fluid pan gasket-

Just to add to this one the most common place to leak is transmission valve body cover under the battery the second most common place is the axle seal the passenger side one.

my transmission fluid is leaking on the drivers side looks like it is close to the batterie side i went to my car on my lunch i could see is leaking so bad it was past my left tire

The gasket under the battery can leak pretty bad.

it looks like transmission fluid it is like a pinkish redish tint when i touch it i didnt even have my engine on on my lunch and i have the ignition so where just the radio turns on and not even 5 mins of it that way there was a puddle and when i check the trans fluid with the dip stick it was very low luckily i work for walmart so i jkyust went in and immeadetly bough trans fluid and put it in my car and when i got off work i rushed home and called the tow truck

i got my car back from the shop and it was the transmission filter needed to be replace only 88 bukc to replace it i just wanted to make sure it wasnt my whole transmission thanks for your help

It was probably loose i hope you had the fluid changed too
