odometer

i am replacing my instrument panel and need to know if you can put a panel with an electric odometer into a 97 SC2 with a mechanical odometer. are they interchangeable?

They started putting the digital odometers in the later built 1998 saturns.I think you might be able to put that in physicaly not 100 percent sure though.I just dont know if the odometer would work correctly etc.From what i know they use the same cluster housing from 1995-1999.
