ihave a 1997 sunfire my scantool is saying my injector circuit is bad what is that?

yes, it could be a bad injector.
if the car will run, I would suggest a load balance test to find the bad cylinder.

my scantool says its number 3 cylinder thats misfiring how do i test the injector?

unplug the electrical connector and use a multimeter to check the ohms for a open or a short.

probably a rubber bushing has rotten away, letting metal hit metal making your noise. A visual inspection would be the place to start.
