My car cranks but only turns over after many tries Some times it takes 3 times and sometimes it takes 10 tries could it be the timing belt?

i would start witrh monitoring fuel pressure as a start. see what it is when it wont start.
as far as the belt, you gave us no engine size but i doubt it if it runs.
