A socket and break-over, a nice tap with a big hammer won't work? Can you get at the shaft behind the pulley, any room? On some makes and models, I have used a pipe-wrench to hold the crank. I'm not saying that is the professional way to do it. I have done it.

Another method is to get a long breaker bar and a healthy 6 point socket. Slip the handle of the breaker bar below the frame toward the passenger side and slip the socket on to the crank bolt. Make sure the breaker bar isn't going to strike anything it can break and go bump the starter. When the bar slams the frame, it will break the bolt loose. You're still going to have to figure out how to tighten it after. Sometimes you can wedge a large screwdriver in the teeth of the flywheel to hold the motor still.
