Hi there,

Thank you in advance for your answer.

I have a 406 which is not starting. I did not realise until now that there is in fact a petrol battery in it instead of a diesel one. Didn't not know this when the car was bought 2nd hand. The car will not start and I suspect that this is because the battery is under powering it. However when attempting to start it this morning the car was chucking out white kind of smoke, is that simply because the battery isnt starting the car correctly and all the diesel is going through unburnt, or is it likely I have two separate issues?

Many thanks.

I would get the high Amp Hr-battery fitted, slow cranking speed may be your problem here.
