radiator fan does not automatically turns on when temperature reaches more than half on the temp gauge

The radiator fan does not automatically turns on if temp reaches more than half on the temp gauge then suddenly engine stops to cool down. When aircon is turned on both fans runs perfectly. Would it be a broken fuse how can i trouble shoot this>
