Repost 97 3000GT Still having same problems, Please Help

replace your spark plugs and set to correct gap. when you pull the plug wirelike that and it smoths out the spark plug has soemthing stuck inbetween the elctrode or is bad. so replace them.

ive even switched the plugs and it stills does it on that one cylinder. and the spark plug wires to still does it, and if it was outta time it would be more than one cylinder.

RECKON YOU HAVE 'EM PLUGGED IN, IN IN THE WRONG FIRING ORDER?

MAYBE 2 OF 'EM SWAPPED?

if it still does it then check oru compression, that means pulling all the plugs out and cranking it like that to mesure compression. if there is a 20%variance then ou need to have the engine looked at. Aslo check the resistance int eh plug wires nothing more than 5000 ohms per foot.

compression is good and the switched one spark plug with another and it still does it on that cylinder, and ive got new plug wires. This problem has gone on for about 5 months now and im still confused.

THIS THING GOT 3 COILS?

WHAT ABOUT SWAPPING COILS W/ OTHER CYLINDERS TO SEE IF THE CYLINDER CHANGES?

OR OBTAINING A CHEAP AUTO SALVAGE YARD COIL AND SWAPPING IT INTO YOUR SYSTEM?...BUY A NEW ONE IF THIS IS YOUR FIX

has one coil for all the cylinders and i replaced it and still does it.

ok after looking at themanual for the umpteethtime , you have a single overhead cam in that and it uses a distributor. replace teh dist cap and rotor because your cap probably has carbon tracks and is shorting out that cylinder or firing on two cylinders at the same time.If you look on the inside or out side of the cap with a brightlight and magnifying glass you'll see what looks like aline either inside or outside the cap.

ive replace the rotor, so ill try the distributor cap when i get the time, if its not the distributor cap what would be the likely cause

other than the distributor cap what else could be the problem

did you replace the cap? check to make sure teh firing order is correct . it cold also be a piece of junk inbetween teh spark plug, where the gap usually is.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE #1 PLUG WIRE GOES AND WHY?----IT IS CRITICAL----IT'S THE STARTING POINT (IMMA JEEP GUY, I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY YOUR BUTTON ROTATES, CW OR CCW) WHICHEVER, THAT'S THE WAY THE SEQUENCE GOES ALSO

ARE YOU ABLE TO CORRECTLY CHECK OR PUT THE WIRES ON THE CAP IN THE SEQUENCE THEY GO

IF YOU ARE LOST ON THIS---WE CAN STILL GET YOU THRU IT

PLEASE ANSWER ANY QUESTION YOU ARE ASKED---'SPECIALLY IF YOU REPLACE THE DIST CAP???

WE CAN'T RULE STUFF OUT, UNTIL WE GET REAL TIME ACCURATE RESULTS FROM YOUR END........MANY POSSIBILITIES OF PROBLEMS......WE GENERALLY ATTRIBUTE IT TO "DEMONS", AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED YOUR CAR, AND WE CANNOT COME UP WITH ANY OTHER ANSWER

without actuallly seeing this i cannot give you anyother thing to go on unless you have an injector problem or slight vacuum leak or out of firing order.
