Where is the Oil Filter Located on a 1997 Mercury Mystique? No way to jack up car hard to get under is it in the rear of the engine passenger side or front of engine down from oil cap like the 97 ford contour

For the four, my info says to get at it through the passenger side wheel-well. Not sure about the six, I'd have to look. If you have to raise and support the vehicle, be safe. Here are both 4 and 6 cylinder locations.
