1997 Mercury Mountaineer stalls only in drive..

Car will crank and idle but soon as I put it in reverse it shuts off. Someone told me to replace the idler air control valve and I did. Now it cranks goes in reverse and neutral but when I put it in drive it stalls

check fuel pressure with a gauge, auto parts rent it then clean throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and iac hole.

I will most definitely try that, however If I keep it a little last o it drop it drive then it will go d run good until I slow down or stop. Which makes met think it's not a fuel problem!??
