The engine is overheating because the radiator fan will not turn on?

Is this likely to be a problem with a fuse, a sensor, or the fan motor? This problem obviously causes the car to overheat, and I'm hoping to get some insight as to how to fix the problem so that I'm not wasting money repairing things that are unlikely to be the problem.

Always check fuses first... they are cheap and easy. Next, with a jumper wire, run power directly from the battery to the fan motor to see if it is good. If it doesn't work with direct power, replace the motor. If it does, then check the fan relay in the relay block. Make sure there is power to the relay and switch it with another relay with the same part number. After that, check the temperature switch. If it is good, either there is a broken wire in the circuit or the PCM may have a problem.
