Auto transmission problem

1997 Mercedes Benz 230C automatic transmission inline 2.3 liter inline 4 cylinder. My transmission will not shift from Park to any other position, it is as though the break is not depressed which activates a transmission shift lock-out. How can I over ride this in order to move the shift lever to R N D 2 or 1?

Check if the brake lights are coming on if so view the picture below this is the shift interlock control system EWD-unable to provide the info to override the system-might want to check the owners manual
