hi we have a 1997 c180 classic for about 3 years ( approx 15000 kms) we have had a small amount of oil appearing in the overflow reservoir naturally we thought it was a head gasket but the car has been running as usual no overheating and no loss of power until a week ago when it started to idle rough pulled out the ignition coils and found one was faulty . this will explain the rough idle but does not explain the oil in water . our next thought was a crack in the oil cooler ( tynans motors informed us this model does not come with a oil cooler ) is this the case or is there a oil cooler . were now heading back to the head gasket ANY THOUGHTS love to hear
regards Phil

no oil cooler. oil in the coolant is more of an indication of a cracked block. head gasket allows coolant into the oil
