Was going to replace wiper linkage assembly with a new purchased unit. The new one doesn't have the lever arm to the wiper motor on it? Do I remove the one from the old one and press it into the new one?

The wiper motor lever should not be removed. You would have problem realigning the arm position if it was not marked.
