Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove passenger-side air bag module. See procedures under PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Verify that connector pins are not broken. If connector is OK, go to next step. If connector pins are broken, replace passenger-side air bag module
Connect leads of SST (49 0839 285) to terminal No. B and C of passenger-side air bag module connector. Set resistance of SST to 2 ohms. Connect clockspring connector. Connect negative battery cable.
Turn ignition on and verify diagnostic trouble code. If code 7, go to next step. If other code, replace passenger-side air bag module. See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Turn ignition to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait more than 1 minute. disconnect clockspring connector. Disconnect SAS unit connector. Check that wiring between terminals of SAS unit connector and passenger-side air bag connector for ground short circuit, line short circuit or open circuit. If wiring is OK, replace SAS unit. See SAS UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If wiring harness is faulty, repair harness (passenger-side air bag module, SAS unit). See Fig. 5 .

Thank you very much for your quick reply Rasmataz, it's much appreciated. However, the answer you provided refers to the "passenger-side air bag module" ? My car does not have a passenger-side air bag, it only has a driver side air bag, would this make a dfference ?
