1997 Disco - do i need to replace all four shocks

my front left shock just gave out. my mechanic says to replace all four, at least the front two.

i say wait till the two back ones go. any thoughts?

bonus question: what should this cost, parts and labor for 2 or all 4 shocks?

Just do the fronts, if the rear are fine leave them, pricing will depend on what shocks you get labour will be around 1 hr a corner, average shock price about $100.00 each better gas shockers will be more.
