My two main brake light lights just stopped working, however the 3rd brake light on the lift gate still works. The fuse in the panel on the passenger side is OK. I pulled the bulbs and the filaments look OK. I thought it could be the brake light switch, but I believe if the switch was bad, all three lights would be out: is that true?. Do you have any suggestions as to where else I can look for a solution? Thanks in advance for your help.

test your bulbs first as they may both be bad if not then see if the fixture is getting power I doubt it's the brakelight switch. fi it's not getting power it may be the multi function switch so you will have to go back to that to see if power is going through it. if it does then you may have a broken wire going to the tailights
