fuel tank noises

First, it is normal for the fuel tank to be pressurized to an extent. The banging isn't normal. It sounds like either the fuel pump is going bad or it has come loose. Check both. Also, if you hear a hissing without removing the gas cap, check for problems in the EVAP system.
