I have 1997 GMC Sierra truck 4 wheel drive k1500 rear end is going bad what gear ratio can I replace this with? It is making a lot of noise.

if you change ratios, then you have to change the front as well.

3.42 is a nice gear set. 3.73 is better but fuel mileage will decrease.
