I have a 97 thunderbird. 4.6 LITER. 127000 miles. It was running and died. I checked the fuel pressure. None. I replaced fuel pump, fuel pickup screen, constant control relay module (ccrm), and fuel filter. It will start with a shot of starting fluid. The fuel fuse is good. All wires check good going to pump from ccrm and fuse. There is power at the fuel pump fuse. The only thing left maybe is pressure regulator. But I still do not hear the whir of the pump when you turn the key on. Battery is new and fully charged. Any ideas? I really need car soon! Thanks!

You need to see if you have power at the fuel pump when you turn the key on. This will help you determine what things might be causing this problem.

Then you should check the fuel pump relay. Most of the time you can just switch it with another relay of the same size and see if it comes on. When you first turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump come on for about 5 seconds.

mine is a 1997. it was the last year that had the constant control relay module (ccrm). it controls the fuel pump, ac, fans and computer, etc. I replaced it. In 1998 they started using the individual fuel relay. Any other ideas?

OK. The next thing you need to do is get a voltmeter and check the voltage at the pump when you first turn the key on. This will tell you if the wiring is working or not.
