driver door will not latch or stay closed

it looks like the piece it is supposed to latch on to to hold the door is wore down on the metal, is there a way to fix this

Are the door hinges badly worn? open the door ands see if you can lift the door, if so get new hings pins start here.

thanks, i think it needs that and i also see the metal on the striker is worn down, how can i replace the striker?

if it is a single post type striker it will unscrew. but with the door realigned the missing plastic coating will not be a problem
