overheating problems

Check thermostat, check for air locks, check to make sure the cooling system doesn't need flushed, make sure none of the radiator hoses are collapsing.

I had this problem had to replace the clutch fan the guide showed me what to look for, I love this site.

when you said no heat comes out of the cab it could either be a bad temp selector or a bubble in the cooling system preventing the coolant from going from point a to point b. you could bypass the heater core with a piece of plastic tubing then clamping the in and out together and bleeding the coolant system. let me know if it stays cool then.

also to be on the safe side change the thermostat. if all of this does not help the sending unit may be bad or the waterpump may need replacing

I just parked my truck and had a ton steam rolling out of my top throttle body hose, my radiator was bubbling and right before I parked it my heater started blowing cold air. I do not have any anti freeze in my floor board. What cold be the problem, I am concerned something just broke?25

Start by performing a compression test to rule out a headgasket. If OK, then have cooling system pressure tested.

Could be as simple as a stuck thermostat (hopefulley).

I have a 94 F250 with a 460 hp. It over heats then goes back to normal then back up to over heat then back again over and over. I replaced the Termistate, and followed a instruction to get rid of a vaper lock. some one said it may be cracked head. any ideas?

My Ford F250 with 7.3 l engine keeps overheating, I have flushed the radiator, changed the thermostat, replaced the fan clutch and it still overheats....Help!

Flushed???---Professionally taken apart--rodded--99% build-up gone?.....Or added some auto parts stuff in it and drained and rinsed it?

How 'bout SQUISHY radiator hoses sucking flat due to water pump action?....I, always get the ones with springs in 'em---or I put my old spring in the new one......I don't care what they say!....I care more about my stuff than they do!

Thermostat installed right, The right one (did you double check the parts feller), and not installed upside down?

Running coolant-mixed 50/50---70/30....mixed outside the vehicle, always the right mix....instead of pouring it in and guessing?

Good airflow through it? No bugs, grass-election signs in front of it?

I always include this one---even though it is seldom the problem...Mr.Water pump?

This one too----You can buy and install....NEW BAD PARTS! Makes you chase your tail!

One more dumb one!--Is the belt there???

I saw (in a shop) Feller had Quick overheating problem---The mechanics had no clue what was wrong.....Till "HE" showed up!....talkin' 'bout "The Man"......Mechanic, I really look up to! Immediately, he noticed the feller somehow misrouted his serpentine belt (and it actually fit!).......Problem was: The water pump was turning backwards!

Engine Cooling problem
1991 Ford F250 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I changed the sensor and the thermostat for the cooling system but the gage on the dash still don't work. I checked the wires and everything looked ok.
what could the problem be?

I have replaced with new, the Thermostate in the block and the coolant temperature sending unit. I have check the wires to see that the mice have not chewed on them and they appear ok. I still can not get a reading on the dashboard gage when the truck is heated up. What elce could be wrong?
