hard time getting it into 1st and 2nd gear

I have a 1997 ford f150xl 4.2 5 speed manual trans and i am having a hard time getting it into 1st and 2nd gear 3rd and 4th 5th and rev is fine. i would like to fix it or find a site to show me how thanks

Fuild is full shifter rod is out

It could be the synchros in the transmission or a bent part, such as a shift rod or fork. If you want to try and tackle it yourself, I would recommend getting access to a repair manual. You can either buy one at a parts store, or buy a subscription to one here:

No, they're replaceable. Take a look at the pictures. It's not terribly difficult, but does require some special tools, which you should be able to rent/borrow from parts stores. You should either subscribe to an auto repair reference manual online (https://www.2carpros.com/articles/mitchell1eautorepair-car-repair-manuals) or buy a manual from said parts stores. There's just too much information and imagery that you'd need to do it right.
