on 1997 ford f 150 oil gauge wavers between high and low while on freeway red oil light comes on for a bit afterwards oil is full computer was reset by vioc have been told that it may be the oil pump or computer

Maybe sending unit screwing up. You could install mechanical gague to verfy if pump

More likely a sending unit, but have pressure checked with mechanical gauge, oil pressure is nothing to fool with, if actually low it can destroy engine.
