About 2 months and 1,000 miles ago I had a heater hose break and drove approxiamately 5 miles in 30 degree weather with temperature gauge in HOT range, never maxed in red though. As I had never replaced any parts of the coolant system until then, I replaced radiator, radiator cap, thermostat, temperature sending unit, all hoses, water pump and coolant resevoir. Now I am losing coolant and smell coolant outside the vehicle once the engine warms up, coolant temperature never shows to get above 180 degrees... have checked oil and had serviced since the repairs, no evidence of coolant in oil. Any ideas?

you could do a radiator pressure drop test to see if/where leak exists. i have a car that is doing same thing but dont lose noticable amount of coolant so i ignore it. mine only smells if i open hood and sniff around.
