Blazer tailgate

I have a 97 blazer and the liftgate will not open. I changed the actuator and it still won't open. Checked to see if it was getting power, and it is getting power. What could cause it not to work.

youll need to remove the panel and inspect the linkage to the lock assy.

There is a small piece inside the latch with a spring on it which moves to release the latch pawl itself. The springs break and the latch will not function properly. You can usually get the inner panel off and release the latch manually then just replace the latch.
