Power seat

My front driver's seat is functioning every direction except down. When I try to lower the seat it makes a noise like an air compressor. Do you have any ideas where I might start looking to fix it?

The motor drive may be slipping, the seat will have to come out and check the drive and the actuator, a job best left for a mechanic.

Do you have an image of this assembly? Once I take it out, what am I looking for? To see if the drive is stripped? How do you check the actuator?
