That's not a legitimate comment and there's no good answer to your question. You could have a major problem next month or it could be as reliable as my 25-year-old minivan with over 415,000 miles. No mechanic has any way of knowing other than to go by the reputation of the brand. Any vehicle will last as long as you want it to as long as you keep making the necessary repairs. The issue is when do those cost of repairs become a poor value, and in this case, you'll have to make that decision. Your cost of repairs and maintenance are going to be about two and a half times more than for the rest of us. You'll have to decide when it just doesn't pay to keep putting more money into the car. BMW is one of the world's worst manufacturers when it comes to customer-unfriendly business practices. As long as you don't mind running back to the dealer for the big stuff that they won't allow independent repair shops to do, they'll be more than happy to take your money and keep your car on the road.

Head light bulbs are a normal repair, but why does the car need a new engine?
