audi a3 making grinding, ratteling noise in low gears 1st and 2nd

Hi my a3 has recently developed a grinding, ratteling noise coming from the front of the car. The noise gets louder if i have been on a long journey, it only makes this noise when im not acelerating or putting the clutch down, example when coming to a junction slowley, it dosent make the noise when the car stops. It startd only making the noise in first but it does it in second now aswell, please help
