97 Acura CL - Check Engine Light - Cannot find plug

I have a 1997 Acura CL (built and purchased in 1996).
The Check Engine Light is on...and no one can seem to find the plug that you need to check the system to see whats wrong. Where the heck is it located?
They said it was normally under the steering wheel panel. Please help.

My info said it is behind the glove-box. I'll try to find a picture?

There are 2 different system used, depending on whether it is OBD-II compliant.
