my "S" light on my vauxhall tigra N-reg Auto comes on in my dashboard after i start up my car sometimes,but if i let it run for abit before pulling off it doesnt appear.If it does i have to use the gear select manually,what my problem please

An error has been detected in the transmission control system. You would need appropriate scan tool to retrieve the trouble codes to proceed with rectification.

Thanks for the quick reply KHLow2008,could you tell me if this special scan tool is available at my local motor parts shop or do i have to book my car into a vauxhall main dealer.Is it a job i could do myself if i manage to get this specail tool

Most parts stores have code readers which might not be sufficient as they are mainly for engine trouble codes.

Scan tools would be used by repair shops or the dealer and are rather pricey. If you have any regular repair shop that you go to, check with them to see if they have compatible scan tools.
