I reinstall the clutch in my Toyota 96. But now I can't get it to shift in gear when the car is on running, check the sleeve an is moving in and out about 2 inches . when I try to shift it makes a grinding sound. But when the car is off I can shift with out a problem. What I did wrong ?

Sounds like you still may have air in the hydraulic system. they are very hard to bleed.

Thank you for your quick response. I can try that. But I didn't remove the hydraulic line, is there any specific distance that the folk has to move for the clutch to disengage?

You can determine that by how much free play you have in the clutch pedal before it meets resistance. If you have any more than 2 inches, then you still have air. If you are getting a full pedal sweep with resistance, then something is wrong with the clutch itself.
