1996 saturn sw1 won't shift into gears

the gear shift is loose and the clutch is loose. it wont go into reverse or 2nd gear. the clutch is less than a year old.

So the clutch pedal is soft instead of hard?Also if the inside shift is loose look below the shifter see if one of the shifter cables came off?Let me know i know how to fix that without replacing the shifter cables.
