1996 Saturn SL2 No cold air

What does the low side read with the compressor on and the compressor off?Also what does the high side read with the compressor on and off?

With the compressor on and off the LOW side reads 45psi. The HIGH side reads 50 with the compressor on and off.

That's not good the readings are the same with the compressor running or not also there almost equal that's not good ether.The pressures are equal with the compressor running you have a bad compressor.Are you the compressor is running the center of the compressor is spinning?Also with the compressor off both the high and low side should both read 100psi or more if the system is properly charged.Sounds like its low on charge.You cant go by pressure while the compressor is running to see if its charge correctly its by how much weight of charge is in the system.

Sounds about right, got the car for free and tryin to get cheap easy a/c for my kid. Guess I'll work on swappin the PCM first. Neither the cooling fan nor the a/c compressor work without jumping the relays. Thank you very much

Don't swap the pcm they hardly ever fail on those cars haven't replaced that many in my 16 plus years working for Saturn.The reason you have to jump the high/low pressure switch is because its low on charge if its only reading 45psi with the compressor off.So the pcm and pressure switch is doing its job.I would start by charging it up with some leak dye and see what the pressures read?Also if it leaks out you can use the dye to locate the leak.
