My car broke down in Turin Italy on 27th Dec. Since then the Turin Peugeot dealer has failed to discover the problem.
For some time now the car has sporadically misfired and occasionally come to a halt usually after a short break during a long drive. It seems to prefer the highest grade petrol - but the last time it was filled we used the lower grade octane. We the drove it for a hour or so each day for several days - but it broke down in Turin. It would start ok - but would then cut out.
The garage say they have checked the petrol pump, filter and the coil to no avail.
My question is - should a Peugeot mechanic be able to diagnose this problem or do we have to wait while they systematically try out various spare parts.
Any idea what it might be
