Which radiator switch turns the fan on - top or bottom?

Hi -- had an overheating problem, ended up blowing a gasket. Head skimmed now, belts replaced - now need to replace a radiator switch so that the fan comes on (it's currently not coming on at all). There's one at the top (2 wires) and one at the bottom (3 wires I think). Thank you.

The one at bottom. Top is for low coolant level warning.
