1996 Nissan sentra stick switches gear w/o clutch

I recently just got a sentra 96, three days ago everything was running great and now I start the car with no problems and the clutch works fine. I pop it into first gear 2nd 3rd 4th 5th and R, and none respond. Then I noticed without pushing my clutch my stick is wobbly and moves with no hesitation..... is there a solution to this? I've been told multiple things,"it could be a gear plate, or drive shaft needs to be repinned. But I need a certified answer please help.

If there is no tension on the shifter, then the linkage has to be damaged or disconnected. Check that first. As far as a driveshaft, your car doesn't have one. It has two drive axles. If one is broken, you would both hear it and the speedometer would work while you were sitting still.

Where is the linkage located and how do I get to it. I'm not a mechanic

The linkage runs between the shifter and the transmission. It is under the vehicle. You can check the linkage at the transmission if you open the hood. That's the easy part. If everything is okay there, you have to craw under the vehicle and follow it.

I have done that part and everything to me looks fine there's two rods ones black which connects to a pin on the stick inside the vehicle on the floor and the other rod looks like its just a mount

I can't tell what I am looking at in the pic. If there is no tension and you can move the shifter without the clutch while the engine is running, it isn't shifting into gear. There must be an issue with the linkage. Look under the hood to see if you can locate where the linkage connects to the transmission.

If the linkage is okay and is shifting the transmission, then there must be an internal problem in the transmission. There could be a broken shifter fork.

What can I do to fix that? Pull the transmission and open it up?

I hate to say it, but if the linkage is moving and attached and it still won't go into gear, that is what will need done. Tell me this, does the clutch feel like it's working?
