1996 Mercury Mystique Car will not start.

after the car goy hot and shut down it will not start. It will turn over but will not start. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it will this reset any computer programs that caused the car to shut off in the first place.

Chances are disconnecting the batter won't help. Have you checked to see if there is spark and fuel to the engine? When you try to start it, does it sound normal or does it sound different than it once did?
