Hi I have just changed the battery and now ive got the battery light on all the time.the Battery is new the light did not stay on before the change could the new battery have knocked out the alternator

check battery terminals for being tight and clean. then check the two items in the pic the inertia switch may have gone to off and not letting alternator work. this is off of an XJS i'm thinking that is what you have
