Is the hole in the intake a hole and I need to replace it, or is it missing something that goes there?

I was driving about 30 mph I heard a loud pop, and when I got home I popped the hood, and there was coolant all over the intake, and the motor. I noticed a small hole in the back of the intake. Is there suppose to be a hole there, or is that the loud popping noise I heard, because now my car will not hold any coolant!

If there is coolant coming from the hole, then I would say that the intake needs replaced. If you are unsure, then a pressure test of the cooling system is recommended, to confirm.
