fuel gauge doesn't work

My fuel gauge doesn't move. I checked the fuse-ok, Ireplaced the sending/fuel pump unit -new. I put approximately 5 gal. of gasoline in tank.All the other gauges on the cluster work. The lights on the cluster work. The fuel gauge doesn't do anything.

Have you tried jumping the connector at the fuel pump module to see if the gauge reads full?

how would you jump the connector at fuel pump module. Its very close up under the bed, and the fuel pump is in the tank. What wire would i connect to as their are four wires going into the tank.
