i reolaced the EGR valve sensor, the engine light has came back on, went to have the code checked on it and it still coming up to replace the EGR valve sensor. Could there be a vacuum leak causing the same code to pop up? Is there any easy way to detect vacuum leaks??

It could be a leak. Check to make sure there was no carbon build up where the EGR mounts to the intake. Also, to check for vacuum leaks, many times mechanics will use something like carb cleaner to check for leaks. If there is one, the engine will draw in the cleaner and the RPM's will change. However, (AND NOTE), carb cleaner is flamable and can cause a fire if it hits something on the engine that is hot enough. Make sure to have a fire extinguisher near by that is good for a grease / oil fire.
