Turn signals do not work when the weather is hot

When the weather is cool, the turn signals work fine. If it is hot out, or if the car has been parked in the sun, the handle makes the usual clicks, but the lights do not blink. For a long time, running the air conditioner at full blast would keep them functioning, but that method is no longer working well. Any ideas? Thanks!

replace the turn signal flasher in the fuse panel. Or it's mounted on the base of the steering column just listen for the clicking.

then you would have to replace the turn signal switch.

Hi,

Hopefully this will help someone. Here are the directions if the signal switch needs replaced. The attached pic correlates with the directions.

MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH
Removal

Warning: the electrical circuit necessary for air bag deployment is powered directly from the battery. To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the battery ground cable must be disconnected prior to servicing or replacing any air bag system components.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait one minute for the backup power supply to be depleted.

2. Remove the steering wheel.

3. Remove the four screws from the lower steering column shroud.

4. Remove the ignition lock cylinder illumination lamp socket from the lower steering column shroud.

5. Remove the lower steering column shroud.

6. Remove the upper steering column shroud.

7. Disconnect the three turn signal and windshield wiper switch electrical connectors.

8. Remove the turn signal and windshield wiper switch screws.

9. Remove the turn signal and windshield wiper switch electrical connectors and remove the turn signal and windshield wiper switch.

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
